Tshwane Place of Safety Association | Arcadia, Pretoria
Their focus is on the needs of newborn babies and young children up to age 6 years who have been abandoned or abused. There is an alarming increase in the abandonment rate of newborn babies and children who have to put up with abuse and neglect, and a place of safety is a refuge for children with might otherwise have just been discarded and left to die.
The Tshwane Place of Safety Association consists of a network of volunteer families who are screened, trained and registered, and who play a major role in the welfare of the children, opening up their homes and their hearts to care for newborn babies and toddlers until the legal arrangements are determined by the State.
Children in their care are babies and toddlers in crisis – children who have been abandoned or abused or with special needs.
